Here’s 4 comic pages I did for a 3rd-5th grade reading textbook! The panel layout and content was given to me, and the story is based on a Hawaiian myth about Pele (goddess of fire) and her sister Makore (sea goddess). It involves love triangles and canoe escapes and lots of waves! Additional explanation & sketches on my blog.
Everything Kali draws just blows me away, but this also reminds me how much I hate my old Pele comic from years back and really need to do some new, legit Hawai’ian goddess art. Because this is just all kinds of gorgeous.

Just finished putting away some books on my new bookshelves. Some are new, some are old, some I’ve read, and some I haven’t. Some belong to the library. And there’s still books piled up all over my room that won’t fit.
