New foes set for Doctor Who Series 7

via Radio Times:

The Doctor Who and Sherlock writer says viewers develop a connection with villains when they first meet them and that continually bringing them back can hamper a show’s growth.

“One of the temptations, particularly if it’s a success is to keep repeating your hits, which means you hear it again and again and again,” said Moffat.

“I always say new monsters are better in Doctor Who because you fall in love with monsters when they’re new,” he told Le Village.

It’s an admission that may surprise some viewers, given that Moffat resurrected the Daleks within three episodes of having taken over the show for its 2010 series, but it suggests the Doctor will be facing some new foes in series seven.

Not surprising. If you’re a Doctor Who fanboy, you WANT to write the classic villans you love. If you get the chance to run the show, you want to create new classics.

Here’s the very first photo of Matt, Arthur, and Karen on set and in costume for Doctor Who Series 7!

There will be more Behind-the-Scenes from Doctor Who in the coming weeks thanks to the fine folks in Cardiff, so follow Doctor Who Official on Tumblr if you care about these things. If you don’t, we’ll assume that you’re probably a Cyberman and that you hate things like goodness and puppies.

…are Rory and Amy wearing matching shirts? I HOPE SO.

FRINGE fans, if you’ve been wondering when the heck answers would be coming, executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman have this to say: “Answers are coming very soon.”
I talked with Pinkner and Wyman earlier this week and they were game to tease this Friday’s big Astrid-centric hour, balancing Peter’s journey with cases and these new characters, alt-Broyles, the status of a few returns, episode 19, a few crazy theories and more…

Sarah Jane Team To Work On Russell T Davies’ New Kids Show: "It's Doctor Who meets Harry Potter"

doctorwho:

The BBC has signed up to a new Russell T Davies TV show, Aliens Vs Wizards for their children’s CBBC channel, something he has previously described as a “small committment”.

Revealed by his agent’s website, he is also listed as creating the show with Doctor Who writer and Sarah Jane Adventures head writer Phil Ford.

But BBC insiders tell me Ford is not alone in that and much of the crew to Sarah Jane Adventures, which finished half way through its fifth series after the death of lead actress Elizabeth Sladen, are working on the show.

The series is being written by familiar Sarah Jane Adventures writers including Gareth Roberts and Joseph Lidster, is set in the present day and will follow the Sarah Jane Adventures formula of twelve two part half hour episodes.

Winning” in Hollywood means not just power, money, and complimentary smoked-salmon pizza, but also that everyone around you fails just as you are peaking. When you become No. 1, you might begin to believe, as Cher once said in an interview, that you are “one of God’s favorite children,” one of the few who made it through the gauntlet and survived. The idea that your ego is not ego at all but submission to the will of the Lord starts to dawn on you as you recognize that only by God’s grace did you make it through the raging attack of idea pirates and woman haters, to ascend to the top of Bigshit Showbiz Mountain.

This is a really great piece-long, but I highly recommend reading it.

About

I spend time on the internet. Too much time. Far too much time.
I'm super crazy in a fun and awesome way (just trust me).
I'm a conniseur of teen fiction (part of the crazy).
I have a habit of creating strange science fiction/fantasy plots, writing them down on bits of paper, and losing them.
I love bad movies and rom-coms. I also love great movies and movies that make me sad.
I've been having a love affair with the television my entire life.
Comics make me happy. Very happy. Especially Swamp Thing.
Right now, I'd rather be eating tacos and listening to Dr. Horrible's Sing A Long Blog in my car.
Or watching Doctor Who with a cocktail in my hand and something baking in the oven.
